Resort Ranches – The Luxurious Side of Dude Ranches
Resort ranches combine two of the best parts about travelling across the United States – the great outdoors and the great indoors. These ranches pride themselves on being able to provide the traditional dude ranch experience while also giving guests the luxuries they enjoy while on vacation. So, if you’ve ever found yourself longing for the romance of the West, but were uncertain about spending time on a ranch, now you can have the best of both worlds.
Traditionally, ranches would invite in weary travelers, offer them hospitality and show them the amazing beauty of the land around them. Dude ranches came from these traditions and now offer guests the ability to learn new skills, participate in cattle drives, and experience life on a ranch. Today, many dude ranches also accommodate for guests who want a bit more luxury while out on the ranch.
Resort ranches still offer many of the same activities as dude ranches. You can still learn how to ride a horse, an essential for the rancher. You can still participate in archery and track shooting. You can still go swimming and fishing in local watering holes. However, at the resorts, you can also spend your day at the spa getting a massage and relaxing by the swimming pool. You can start a game of tennis or, sometimes, even play a round of golf.
Resort-style ranches also provide plenty of supervised activities for kids, which give parents plenty of time for their own relaxation. Group activities ranging from capture the flag to sing a longs are arranged for children of all ages. Some resorts also offer activities for teens, such as rock climbing, hiking, and nature walks. This encourages everyone to meet new people, make new friends, and try out something new.
When it is time to eat, many of the resort-style ranches offer a variety of dining options. You can choose from the traditional cookouts, offering over the fire favorites, such as hot dogs. If you’d rather eat in, some resorts offer room service, or you can choose to dine at a gourmet restaurant. Depending on the ranch, you could have the best of both and have a gourmet cookout.
Your family can enjoy all the great parts of a traditional dude ranch with all the amenities of a resort when you book a vacation at a resort ranch. Get the best of rustic and luxury. No matter where you stay, at the end of the night, you’re sure to find a nice place to sit and roast a few marshmallows with your kids.
